It's Game On, Baby!

Woke up this morning to a very wintery surprise.  Well, not really a total surprise because snow was in the forecast for Saturday in Kansas City.  However, I wasn't expecting this much snow.  I wish I had taken a picture...

Any other morning would have been no big deal at all, but it was my Stamp Crazy Girl's bi-monthly Stamp Camp.  We had a lot of gals stay home and just do the "stamp camp in a box."  For those gals who braved the snow, it was a very fun day! 

Here's a group shot of the projects we made.  I'll post individual pictures tomorrow for the gals who like close-ups. 

 

There was also a group swap today, and I can't wait to show you all the samples.  I have to brag on the girls in my group - they ARE talented stampers!!  :-) 

In honor of game night at Jeanine's house tonight, I decided to post Julie's swap first.  She used the Game Night stamp set and Jackpot Designer Series Papers.

 

 

Check out those candies!  Julie's sister Jill found them at Target or Walmart.  I MUST FIND THEM!! 

Kind of a blurry picture, but... wouldn't this be a cute card to go with the game night box??  This sample was on one of the Orlando leadership display boards.   I have plans to copy it... hehe

Quinceanera Samples

I mentioned a few days ago that I was working on Quinceanera invitations for a party.  Mis Quince Anos is Melissa, and her colors were Rose Red and Regal Rose.  I think the invitations turned out beautifully, and between her mom, grandma, aunts, and Godmother, they found something they all loved.  :-)

I kept the designs very simple since they'll be making about 200 invitations.  Two-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds are a very inexpensive way to add bling to your cards, so there's glitter on everything. 

 

Simple tri-fold card with information printed on the inside panels. 

 

One layer invitation with information printed on the vellum overlay before attaching to the card.  All the ladies liked the Eyelet Border Punch but wanted to see more of the girl.

 

They loved the idea for the mints!  So quick and easy and look great just scattered on the tables.  :-)

 

This Z-fold card was my favorite of the bunch. 

 

I don't have a picture of the final invitation because we made it as we went along.  But it's a white card base with the girl stamped in Basic Black ink, colored in with the markers, glittered, and edges scalloped with the Eyelet Border Punch.

Baby Invitations

So my sister-in-law Laura is due in July with a boy.  She's coming home for a few weeks, and we are throwing a baby shower.  I've been working on some invites and favors.  Just playing around with a few ideas.  What do you think? 

 

 

The Sale-A-Bration products are perfect for the shower.  I used the Delicate Dots papers, Ribbon bundle, and Yummy.  The little duckie image is from the Nursery Necessities stamp set.  I aso used the Top Note die cut and Big Shot machine for the focal point on the card.  The favors are done with the Petal Card and Lots of Tags die cuts.  They hold a Ghiradelli chocolate square.

I'm also working on a banner using the Big Shot Pennant die cut to hang on the fireplace.  I'll have to post a picture when I get that finished.

Who Moved My Cheese?

So how many people have read the book, Who Moved My Cheese?  I recall very vaguely that it was about managing change within your organization.  I can't say that I actually read all the book, but I am pretty sure I was supposed to.  Hehe...  onto a much more fun cheese...

My team's Sale-a-Bration stamp camp is this weekend, so that means there will be a SWAP!  :-)   I received this sample from a 3-d Wow swap in Orlando, and everyone who has seen it has loved it.  Me included. 

I changed the sentiment from "Happy Heart Day" to "because nice matters."  It's from the hostess set, Sweet Little Sentiments, and it's so precious.  But other than that it is pretty much exactly the same as the one I received.  Why mess with perfection?

Garden Whimsy Rock-n-Roll

 

Is it just me or is this card beautiful?  :-)  Lots going on here with the double-stamped butterfly image, Big Shot Circle and Scallop dies, ribbon, and sponging.  So I stamped the butterfly imagine in Tangerine Tango and then rolled the edges in Riding Hood Red.  This is called the Rock-n-Roll technique and works best with large, solid images.  I stamped a second butterly on Whisper White scrap paper, trimmed with Paper Snips, and attached to the card front with a teeny bit of SNAIL adhesive.

More fabulousness from Lisa!

Okay, so I am busy working on Quinceanera Invitations for tomorrow's workshop, so I am going to show you what my BFF and fellow demonstrator, Lisa Jolliff, has been doing.  :-)  If you live in the Newton area, you must look her up and join her clubs.  Here's what they made this month:

 

This ensemble uses the 5th Avenue Floral stamp set, Yummy Sale-a-Bration stamp set, and Not Quite Navy and Old Olive colors and accessories.  The Scallop Envelope die and Big Shot machine were used to make the cute little box.

 

Isn't this a chocolately-fun Valentine's Day layout.  :-)  I asked Lisa to make me a copy of it, so we'll see if posting it on my blog persuades her to follow through on that request.  hehe

Lot's going on with this page - love the color combo:  Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red.  The hearts and punches are all done with punches and the Candy Lane papers.  The stamp set is a Happy Heart and she even used some Sticky Cuts letters, glitter and Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon. 

Two words:  Gor-jus!   

Shamrock Flowers & $50 Winner! :-)

Here's my St. Patrick's Day creation with the green milk bottles from the Target Dollar Spot:

 

I used our new Full Heart punch to make the shamrocks.  I punched out three hearts and attached them to bamboo skewers (also from Target in the kitchen section) with a Stampin' Dimensional.  I tied White Taffeta ribbon around the skewers and then Old Olive wide grosgrain around the bottle neck.

Scallop Envelope Tree

I am doing several open houses and stamp camps these next two months, so I decided to make a booking tree.  The idea is that each little envelope holds a prize, and you get to pick a prize when you book a Stampin' Up party with me.  I got the idea from Pam Morgan, a Stampin' Up Corporate Super Star at Leadership in Orlando and am finally putting some of those great ideas to use!  :-)

 

I found the photo holder tree at Target.  The envelopes are the Scallop Envelope die cut that I used with the Big Shot machine.  The fabulous papers are from the Bella Rose collection.
