So my New Year's eve started off great. I had a mini-Christmas celebration with my god-daughter and her mom, Shawna, one of my besties. :) Then my hubby and I were meeting a big group of friends to go out on New Year's Eve.
This is a picture from early in the evening. All dressed up and ready to bring in the New Year!
And then this is where we ended up:
This is me in the ER at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, and yes, we were there at midnight for the countdown. I was the first patient of the new year. Woo-hoo!
I broke my leg right above the ankle. They popped it back into place at the ER, and I will probably have surgery Tuesday or Wednesday next week to stablilize the break with a pin and get a long leg cast.
This is my first injury, first broken bone, first time on crutches... and all that stuff. Lots of "firsts" on the first day of the year! I think I will always remember where I was and what I was doing on 1/1/11.
Hoping you have a better tale to tell of your New Year's Eve. Feel free to post it in the comments... even if you just quietly celebrated at home.
I'll randomly draw someone's name and send you something fun from the new Occasions mini catalog! :) Please post by Wednesday, January 5th to be included in the drawing.

At least it wasnt your Stamping hand. That would have been really bad! :) I hope you get better soon!!

Awww...girl! Total bummer! I broke my leg before....so, not fun! Here's to a speedy recovery! I stayed home with Dwen. We have both been sick, and we cuddled and watched movies...well, in between med induced naps, that is! Happy New Year to you and your family!

Oh my goodness!
I hope you have a quick and "easy" recovery. As easy as it can possibly be.
I spent my New Years with one of my best friend's and her husband, my three year old [Who fell asleep on me] and my mom. My other half went out to a party.
My friend and I finished her workshop order [Over $500 in merchandise, woohoo!!!] and browsed the new Mini. All while drinking coffee from my new Keurig. :)
Good luck with your surgery!

Oh Shelly....I feel your pain! That's where my break was only on my right leg! I couldn't drive for 3 months! Good luck with surgery - I recommend Dixon & Dively practice. We'll need to reschedule Saturday, huh?

No way, Sarah, we are still ON! Diana is making swaps for me, the kids will clean the house and Steve will make us something yummy to eat. I will probably be propped on the couch and looking a hot mess! :)
However, I did have 6 other events I had to cancel this week. Luckily, I've been able to reschedule them all.

You are a trooper! You saw me two days after my surgery (at the last KC Regional)! I don't remember much that day....the drugs are good! See you Saturday!

OMG Shelly! I feel so bad for you! Looks like you'll have time to check out Ellen and Oprah inbetween stamping and blogging.. :o) We celebrated the New Year with a movie and bar-b-que with another couple who are close friends of ours. It was 60 degrees in St. Louis so the grilled steaks were extra special for this time of year. Take care of yourself and keep those good drugs handy!

Wow, Shelly! You certainly started the New Year out with a "BANG" or should I say a "THUMP"!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your accident and hope you have a speedy recovery with little or no pain. Just keep the drugs nearby. Thanks for rescheduling my party. I spent NYE watching the ball drop on TV and was kept company by my 6 Build-A-Bears still dressed like Mr. and Mrs. Clause, the Christmas Tree, and the Elves. Take good care of yourself. You are special!

Shelly, Really? Dancing? :) Sorry you had to go through all that pain. Hope everything is going well now. Let's hope you heal quickly.
My New Year's Eve was spent with my hubby who made steaks on the grill for the two of us. The meal was "yummy". We had a drink, watched the ball drop a few times on television then went to bed about 1:30 a.m.
Happy New Year
Pat
