January Techniques Club

Each month I hold a class teaching new techniques to my regular club members.  We meet on the 1st Monday of every month, so our next class is Monday, February 7th from 6:30-7:30 PM.  Guests are always welcome!  Cost is $5 for the class or free with a $25 order.

Here's what we made in January:

I taught the Daila Fold and Bleaching techniques.

This is the Dailia Fold, and we used the new Tulips Embossing Folder.  Do you recognize this card from my Leadership Swaps?  I fell in love with it!  Thank you to Sharon Cheng for her creativity.  :)

The next card we made using household bleach.

Bleach can be scary because you have to be careful not to get it on your clothes, but it is really fun because every cardstock color bleaches a little differently.  And it's acid-free!  So you can actually bleach images in your scrapbooks.  Who would of thought?

Plastic Stamp Case

So what can you do with one of our empty plastic stamp cases?  Lookee:

Isn't that cool!  I've seen these cases turned into sewing centers, office centers, notepad holders, etc.  This is one of the prettiest that I've seen.  It wasn't mine unfortunately.  It belonged to Stella Mackay.  She's a Stampin' Up Advisory Board member this year and sat with me at lunch one day.  Someone had given it to her as a gift but I can't remember who.

 

Leadership Valentines

Still looking for a Valentine idea... try these on:

The Medallion stamp is one of my favorite "go-to" images.  I would have never thought to use it for Valentine's day but this is GORGEOUS!

Another Valentine Defined... this is a must-have Valentine set especially for flamingo lovers.  The two flamingos forming a heart is just so sweet.  :)

Just one more Valentine Defined sample... I didn't see a sample that I didn't love!

 

Vintage Brooch Class at the Pink Zebra

Each month they are open late on a Thursday for Girls Night Out from 6-8 pm.  They offer a fun shopping experience, wine, snacks and ME!!!  :)

Olivia's Birthday Invitations

My daughter Olivia celebrated her 11th birthday this weekend with a sleepover.  Can I tell you that we were completely sleep-deprived the rest of the weekend! 

I received this swap at Leadership, and Olivia and I both loved the idea for her birthday invites.

This invite uses several Big Shot dies including the brand-new Petal Cone die in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

 

Here's the invitation that Olivia and I made for her party.  We ended up making 12, and they were pretty quick and easy.

We did the inside just like the sample using the You're Invited stamp set.

Did you notice the cherry on top?  It's a 3/4" circle of our new Red Glimmer Paper.  I love, love, LOVE this glimmer paper.  I think it may be one of my new favorite products from the Occasions Mini.  It comes in 12"x12" sheets - 2 for $3.95.  So you can even use it on your scrapbook layouts.

WOW Fabric Samples from Leadership

Shelli Gardner, CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up, issued a challenge to the creative staff at the home office to create projects using products from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  Here are some of the amazing works of art on the WOW wall at Leadership.

Is this pillow and matching quilt not the cream of the crop?  I am so in love with this pillow and really want to make it when I can get around and sew again.  :)

Leadership Charms

The make and takes at Leadership were phenomenal this year!  We received a 34" chain and 1 1/2 x 2" Charm plus several trinkets and baubles.  I loved them all!

This charm was created with the Lovely Letters and Clearly You stamp set, and a lot of frou-frou.  I used Seam Binding, fabric, Crochet Trim, Crown and Key trinkets, and a Pearl Bauble.  Wow... this is really stunning in person.

Then we also made this fun charm designed to hang on Crochet Trim:

And the third charm may just be my favorite.  It's the simplest, and I wear a lot of black especially in the winter.

 

3-D Leprechaun Swaps

I had started these little guys before I left for Leadership, so that is the only reason why I had them ready by Nashville.  :)

I used lots of punches and found these delicious green candies at Christmas time.  Well, actually my husband did.  He bought them to put in stockings but I snagged them because I knew they would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

I used the Got Treats and Afterthoughts stamp sets and these punches (5 Petal Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1/4" square punch, Word Windown Punch, Wide Oval Punch, 1/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, and 1 1/4" circle punch.)

Here's another version with the rounded part of the Wide Oval Punch.  I think the one on the right looks like a Keystone Cop.  Hehe...
