Where did this week go??

I can't believe that it has been a WHOLE week since my last post!  I try to post daily, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Friday Night Summer Time Stamp a Stack

Escape the chaos (and the heat) and join me for a fun night of stamping this Friday, July 29th from 6:30-8:30 PM at my house.  We'll be using new colors and stamps to create 10 cards (5 each of 2 designs) with matching envelopes.  If you place a $25+ order the day of class or bring a friend that's new to me, then your class is 1/2 price.

July Techniques Club

It's July and time for new stuff!  :)  This month at Techniques Club we made two cards utilizing new products as well as techniques.  Here's the fun:

 

The first technique is Double-Embossing and LetterPress Templates.

On this card we used Night of Navy Craft ink on the Fancy Fan Letterpress Template and Night of Navy Classic Ink on the focal point.  Then we heat embossed with Tangerine Tango on the focal point just slightly offset to create a shadow.  Finally add a little spritz with the Night of Navy maker and Color Spritzer Tool.  So much fun and big WOW in person!

Stamps:  My Friend, Fabulous Phrases

Ink:  Night of Navy Craft and Classic Inks, Versmark

Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango

Accessories:  Big Shot, Fancy Fan Letterpress, Decorative Label Punch, Color Spritzer Tool, Night of Navy Marker, Heat Tool, Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Stampin' Dimensionals.

 

We used the bone folder to break down the fibers of the flower.  Then we split the layers and curled them.  So sweet! 

I stamped the greeting and then adhered it to the card front and sent the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  It makes it look like it's a two-toned cardstock instead of a lared piece.  So cool! 

Finally we made a paper button with the 1" and 3/4" circle punches and lacqured the whole thing with Crystal Effects.  This is a great substitution for a real button.  So Real!  :)

Cherish Family Layout

Recently, I shared this layout with my Tonganoxie stamp club ladies.  It's a fun and versatile layout, and great for framing or putting in your scrapbooks.

I used the Lovely Letters alphabet stamp set, large and small tag punches, several ribbons and great patterned paper.  The colors are Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery.

Say what! The Stamp Lady Forgot Her Stamps!

Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself...  so I was asked to do a hands-on stamping session and talk about the benefits of using hand-stamped cards to make an impression at a professional conference.  I tried to keep it simple and use just the basics... aka... SIP

S = stamps

I = ink

P = paper

But I only brought the "IP" more about that later...

Here's the simple thank you card that I brought for everyone to make:

This card is a simple way to get started and not spend a ton of money doing it.  Here's the breakdown of the products for this card - $41.25 subtotal before shipping and tax:

I even showed them two "stepped-up" versions to tackle after the get their feet wet with the first cards. 

Add a little sponging, striped Designer Series paper and adhesive Pearls for a vintage look.

Or you can add Perfect Polka Dots embossing with the Big Shot and adhesive Rhinestones for modern elegance.

But we couldn't make any of these because the stamp lady lost her stamps!  I was mortified when I opened my packet of supplies and there was no stamp.  I searched high and low and found nothing in my hotel room or back home.  So who took the missing stamps?  Hotel cleaning staff?  TSA?  My money is on TSA because I had to check that bag...

I was so distraught but look at how much fun these ladies are having without even stamping!

Can you tell they are holding blank cards?  They made me feel so much better and even asked me to come back again next year for a longer session!!!  :)

Wedding Invitation Ensemble

My friend Shadai married her long-time boyfriend Nick this month... (congratulations to a wonderful couple!!!) 

Shadai is a Stampin' Up demonstrator in my downline, so of course she had to hand-stamp her invitations.  :)  She's a pink and bling kind of girl, as you will see.

I didn't snap a photo of the response card before I mailed it back, but it carried the same black/white/melon mambo color scheme.  Great job by the bride, Shadai!!!

My Latest Topeka Card Class

It seems kind of weird but we stamped fall cards this month during my Topeka class.  We made 8 cards total - 4 Halloween and 4 Thanksgiving.  Here they are:

My Weekend at the Circle S Ranch

This weekend was my 24-hour Crop for Hope at the Circle S Ranch in rural Lawrence.  Oh my goodness... look who greeted us when we arrived...

Isn't that an amazing view!  Circle S Ranch is a working ranch with longhorn cattle, horses, buffalo and cowboys!  :)  My husband was impressed with the guest ranch and wants to go back and stay sometime.  A reaction like THAT doesn't happen very often, so I might have to try to make that happen.

Twenty-one ladies came out to the ranch to scrap away their weekend, and we had so much fun working on our projects and checking out what everyone else was working on, too.  The staff at the ranch were so delightful (shout out to sweet Liz and Mary who took care of our every need, Chef Corey who cooked three delicious meals for us and everyone else that it takes to make the ranch such a pleasant place to spend your time.

I sent out my newsletter on Tuesday morning and forgot to include information on my new ribbon share!!!  We have several new styles and lots of new colors.  :)
